BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The incumbent serves as a liaison between the Fleet and Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) departments. Supports the department in delivering programs to the shipboard community and facilitates fleet participation in departmental activities. The Deployed Forces Support Coordinator (DFSC) works closely with Recreation Department Athletic Directors, Publicity Managers, Information Tickets and Tour Managers and all (MWR) department facility managers. Provides training to Recreation Services Officers, Fund Custodians and Afloat Civilians by presenting the Fleet Recreation Management Course as a qualified course manager. Provides technical training in the functional areas of afloat recreation program including accounting, auditing, procurement , general program administration, and fund management. Surveys home ported ships to determine exercise/recreation equipment needs, both short term and long term. Develops internal controls, budgeting, policy interpretation, procurement, and financial management. Performs other related duties as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Formal education with a four-year baccalaureate (bachelors) degree from an accredited college or university with a major in recreation administration, exercise science, tourism or physical education. A master's level graduate degree in recreation administration or business administration is desired. Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education. Specialized training includes completion of the Fleet Recreation Management Course (FRMC) and formal qualification as Course Manager for the FRMC. Incumbent must obtain this certification within one (1) year of accepting this position which requires specialized experience of at least five years with the following: knowledge of policies and procedures regarding the expenditure and accountability of U.S. government appropriated and non-appropriated funds; policies and procedures regarding the procurement control and disposition of U.S. government appropriated and non-appropriated property. General knowledge of Navy policies, organization and administration such as in-depth knowledge of Navy Recreation policies, administration and procedures. Knowledge of exercise equipment suitable for shipboard use and skill in designing shipboard fitness spaces. Skill in presenting briefs, lectures and formal education programs. Ability to manage and coordinate limited assets in response to the dynamic needs and requirements of the fleet program. Knowledge of the principles of shipboard recreation underway and import.

BREIF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to assign and direct work, instruct and train subordinates on proper methods and procedures, proper use of equipment, assure adherence to safety rules and regulations and recommend various personnel actions as directed by the designated Site Coordinator or higher member of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Program. The Lead Motor Vehicle Operator (LMVO) ensures work standards of quality and quantity and provides advice and expertise as required on individual work situations. On a continuing basis, reviews work in progress and upon completion and provide special instructions to co-workers on new and difficult work operations. The LMVO is required to clean, conduct checks and usability inspections on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Conducts and oversees preventative maintenance and inspection of equipment and vehicles for loose, damaged or worn parts and tires, proper pressure in tires and battery condition. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must have basic knowledge and work experience in a recycling program. Knowledge of the operation of industrial equipment such as balers, brass deformer's shears and other associated recycling equipment is required. Proven experience and knowledge in performing preventative maintenance services on vehicles and forklifts is a must. Ability to identify equipment defects, make minor repairs and initiate corrective action reports. Trade knowledge and experience that shows the ability to efficiently direct work is required. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The employee must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Navy's non-appropriated fund procurement practices. A. Flexible employees work from 0 to 40 hours in a workweek, depending on business needs. Full time openings are often filled by flex employees who have proven to be excellent employees.
Q. Do I have to join the Navy or be a military dependent to apply?
A. No and you don't have to wear a uniform. This is a civilian position and every student with Early Childhood Development area of study is welcome to apply. Once hired, you will be given an ID card to allow base access.

Q. Is a background check required?
A. Yes. If you have a concern about your background you can discuss it with a personnel department representative. It is important that you are 100% truthful.
Q. Do you participate in Pre-employment Drug Screening?
A. Yes, as well as random drug testing after accepting employment. You will also be required to complete a pre-employment physical. Once an appointment has been made for your drug test physical, you must appear at the designated date and time. You will not get a reminder call.
Q. What happens after I apply?
A. Once we receive your application, we will forward it along with all other applications received, to the Child Care Director of the location you indicated on your application. The Director will call the best qualified candidates for an interview.

A. A representative from the NAF Human Resources Office will notify you by phone.

A. Yes. It is a good idea to alert your references that they may receive a call.

A. You will need a completed Direct Deposit form (completed by you and your bank representative), a government issued picture ID and any document that establishes eligibility to work in the United States, such as your Social Security card or Birth Certificate.
