MWR — Mission First, Sailors Always!
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department administers a varied program of recreation, social and community support activities on all Navy bases in the Southwest Region. These programs provide active duty, reservists and retired Navy personnel and their families with sports and physical fitness activities, child development and youth programs and a variety of food and beverage services. Our mission is to provide quality support and recreational services that contribute to the retention, readiness, mental, physical, and emotional well being of our Sailors.

As a base visitor you are welcome to use the facilities listed in the following pages. Keep up with your exercise program at MWR’s well-equipped fitness centers, swimming pools and exercise classes. Get away from it all at the golf course, open daily from 6 am to sunset. This 18-hole golf course features chipping and putting greens, a driving range, a pro shop and a snack bar. If you have time to explore the wonders of Southern California, the MWR Information, Tickets and Tours Office has discount tickets to major leisure and entertainment attractions located throughout California and Nevada.

Relax and refresh at day’s end in one of MWR’s clubs and restaurants. The Paradise Community Center operates seven days a week and offers numerous hospitality and leisure services. Catch a bite to eat in the Paradise Café or enjoy your favorite beverage at The Lagoon, specialty areas located within the Paradise Community Center. The Barefoot Bar, open to all hands, is another favorite spot located near Bachelor Housing.

Have some time to spare? Strike out for Hall Memorial Lanes Bowling Center, featuring ten synthetic lanes with high tech scoring and pin-setting equipment. Grab a quick meal at the snack bar or stop by the bowling pro-shop to check out the latest equipment.
