START/FINISH:
The 4-mile run/walk starts at 8 am in Downtown San Diego on Harbor Drive near the Convention Center and finishes in Coronado at Tidelands Park. For the fourth year, the Original Bay Bridge Run/Walk is proud to host athletes from the Balboa Warrior Athlete Program (BWAP) through the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). BWAP is a program created for recovering injured military, veterans and dependents to play adaptive and Paralympics sports, assist rehabilitation and to “renew” quality of life. These athletes will kick off the race around 7 am by hand cycling, running and walking the course. Look for the BWAP group at the start or finish of the race and give the athletes a hand for their service and participation!

PARKING:
Please plan ahead and arrive early! There are many parking lots and street parking spaces Downtown near the start area. Remember, parking meters are free on Sundays! Convention Center underground parking off 5th Ave. and Harbor Dr. is also available for a fee. Take the Trolley! It stops at 5th Ave. and Harbor Dr. right near the start line. For Coronado residents, buses are available to shuttle participants from Tidelands Park on Glorietta Blvd. to the start line Downtown from 6:30-7 a.m. Parking is limited in Coronado, so please arrive early to insure this service.
DIRECTIONS TO START LINE:
Traveling Southbound: take I-5 South, exit Front St., follow to Market St., turn left on Market St., follow to 4th Ave., begin looking for parking. Harbor Dr. is a few blocks south of Market St.
Traveling Northbound: take I-5 North, exit J St., turn left on J St., follow to 4th Ave. Begin looking for parking. Harbor Dr. is a few blocks south of J St.
RETURN FERRY/SHUTTLE:
You have two FREE transportation choices for your return trip to the race start area. RACE FERRY - all race participants may enjoy a FREE (included in race entry) Coronado to San Diego ride on a special “RACE FERRY” courtesy of San Diego Harbor Excursion. “RACE FERRY” departs at 10 am, 11 am and Noon from the Ferry Landing Marketplace, about a quarter mile from the finish line, and drops you off at Broadway Pier near the Midway Museum. The ferry is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Participants must wear their race bib number to be identified as a free rider, no exceptions. Friends and family of race participants are also invited to ride on the “RACE FERRY” for a $3.50 fee. Tickets may be purchased on the vessel at boarding. In addition to the “RACE FERRY,” the public ferry will be available every hour on the half hour, for participants, friends and family at a fee of $3.50 per person (not included in race entry). Ferry wait time is subject to availability.
BUSES are available from Tidelands Park to shuttle you back to the start line area FREE OF CHARGE starting at 8:30 am and continuing until the festivities are over at approximately 11 am. Baby strollers and wheelchair access is available on transit buses. Guide dogs are the only animals permitted on the ferry, buses and race course.

Participants may register for the 24th Original Bay Bridge Run/Walk in one of three ways. Registration is open until the race sells out. Race is capped at 8,000 participants.

Register by mail or online by 5/1/10 and receive your race number and event information sheet by mail at no charge! Your race number and information sheet will be mailed to you approximately two weeks prior to the event. The event is held rain or shine. No walk-in, phone or fax registration available.
PRE-RACE PACKET PICK-UP:*
For all pre-registered participants, you may pick up your race packet on Saturday, May 15 from 10 am to 2 pm at RoadRunner Sports in Kearny Mesa, 5553 Copley Drive, San Diego. Your race packet includes your bib number, t-shirt and Padres ticket. If you received your race number in the mail, you MUST bring your race number to pick up your packet. If you did not receive your number by return mail, bring a valid ID and pick up your number, T-shirt and ticket. You may pick up race numbers for friends or family with their authorization. We encourage you to attend this pre-race packet pick-up event. There is no day of race registration available!

RoadRunner Sports is offering a 10% discount for all Bridge Run/Walk participants (15% for active duty) on all merchandise with your race number on Saturday, May 15.
If pre-race registration is available at RoadRunner Sports, fees will be: $44 adult, $40 adult active duty military and Seniors (65+), $25 children (4-12 yrs), team entry $230. On site registration must be made in person - no one else can register you on site. You may pick up your T-shirt and May 30, 2010 Padres game ticket at this time.

If you are unable to attend a pre-race pick-up or do not receive your bib number by mail, race morning bib pick-up is available and located near the start line from 6:30-8 a.m. only. There is no race day registration. Those who pick up their bib number race morning will receive their Padres game ticket and event T-shirt at the finish line area. |
